Digital Operations Infrastructure Lead
Our customer, located in Farmington, CT is in search of an Operations Lead. This position will be responsible for Digital Operations for a Global Service System (GSS) infrastructure. The GSS is being implemented for key companies starting this year and continuing through the next 2 years, and has functionality to support sales, field service and call centers.  This position reports to the Associate Director of Digital Operations. This position will have a combination of regular IT operational responsibilities as well as supporting the delivery of key Global Service projects working with business entities around the world. The successful candidate will have strong organization and communication skills with a background of supporting business critical application infrastructures.  Our client has deployed IaaS, PaaS and SaaS systems as part of the Global Service System.  The system is based on MS Dynamics CRM (as a SaaS) as well as custom systems and interfaces built primarily on MS based server architectures based in the MS Azure Cloud.  Much of the infrastructure for the cloud based systems is supported by third party service providers, including off-shore firms.  Therefore experience working with off-shore suppliers is essential.  Working knowledge of the ITIL based support methodology leveraging ServiceNow, and the ability to work with multiple global suppliers simultaneously is critical to success.  Experience with mobile cloud platforms (primarily IOS based) is also important.
The infrastructure and operations team is a critical part of this strategy and is responsible for supplying the infrastructure and operation support for these global systems, as well as working with the local IT teams to provide leadership and guidance.
  • Manage day to day IT operations in a critical 24x7 environment for key Global Service application infrastructures, using ITIL based processes
  • Build and maintain a top-notch operational support team of Azure, infrastructure, database and other necessary support resources, leveraging both employees and key partners
  • Support implementation projects for the key Global Service applications, building required infrastructure, leveraging off-shore teams as needed.
  • Identify and plan projects to support the operational requirements for key cloud based systems that may include mobile devices, computing and other infrastructure components
  • Deploy world class technology and streamlined processes, based on ITIL and ServiceNow to enhance the global Service IT operations
  • Manage all system backup and recovery processes as well as disaster recovery testing and (if necessary) execution.
  • Manage and execute environment updates and code/version deployments to the various system environments. 
  • Working with the core infrastructure team, develop, manage and execute projects to maintain software and hardware currency in the cloud application computing environment
  • Manage service levels, projects and performance related to the Global Service systems operations
  • Represent Global Service participation as necessary in relevant Passport reviews and planning activities
Skills required:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related fields
  • 8-10 years of experience managing IT operations and related projects involving business critical systems on a variety of platforms in a 24x7 environment
  • Deep technical experience in cloud based environments, particularly MS Azure – including IaaS, PaaS, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Demonstrates strong technical aptitude, project management, and communication skills
  • Experience in an ITIL environment, with good working knowledge of ITIL processes and principles, preferably using ServiceNow
  • Experience and background working with large and diverse teams, both onshore and offshore, to provide IT infrastructure support
  • Highly-motivated, self-directed, and able to effectively lead efforts including major incident management, and day to day operations and support, with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrates proficiency in IT areas of analytical thinking and innovation
  • Demonstrates leadership and collaboration skills, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrates ability to perform root cause analyses
  • Experience with MS Dynamics (SaaS), MS Azure (IaaS, PaaS, ASB), ServiceNow are all desirable
