Our customer in Farmington, CT is looking for a Program Manager with a proven track record of success in leading multiple projects in technology delivery, and operations.  Must be able to lead process improvement initiatives and implement appropriate controls to improve productivity, quality and customer service.  The ideal candidate should understand change control, capacity planning and overall governance for the portfolio
Responsibilities include:
  • Primary Systems technical management focal point for HR, whether for new systems for enhancements to existing systems
  • Overall management, tracking and reporting of project activities, ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to SDLC, and remain aligned to Business Case.
  • Interfacing directly with the HR business areas, technical support areas, vendors, and business units supporting assigned programs for technical planning, execution, design reviews and project level decision making. Particular emphasis on funding, resource bandwidth, prioritization, and schedule commitments.
  • Negotiating required resources to meet agreed commitments on assigned programs
  • Chairing regular meetings and driving actions to closure with project teams, including suppliers
  • Attending and supporting customer meetings
  • Leading a project team or multiple smaller project teams
  • Providing first line management of resources and skill-sets for associated programs
  • Working with associated leads and Program leadership to ensure best practices and design strategies are integrated into proposals and program plans
  • Mentoring and coaching department staff as well as preparing staff for current and upcoming business roles
  • Contributing directly to department strategy considering immediate and long term goals
  • Leading and applying improvements in methods, tools, process definitions and design strategies
  • Overall responsibility for Change Control as well as other appropriate controls
Skills required:
  • 5-7+ years PM/ PMO experience
  • Ability to manage large project portfolios
  • Capacity Planning
  • Change control experience
  • Ability to lead process improvements
  • MS Project Server
  • HR Project Experience
